Should I give my real name?

It’s not a good idea to display your full real name on your dating profile. While you get to know someone it’s advised to use your screen name, but once you feel you know him or her a bit better you can tell them your first name and only give your surname out when you feel comfortable.

I get many messages, and I always reply. Thing is a lot of men message me yet haven't even bothered to read my profile, so it's wasting their time and mine if they live 200 miles away when my profile states I am looking for inside 25 miles from me. I think it's polite to say thanks but no thanks and say why too. It's what I'd expect from a guy, but to be honest, some are just as bad as some women.

Hi David - first, let me say that I'm NOT part of the team here and this is my own opinion. Women get many more 'hits' than men and they could not be bothered to reply to everyone. Besides that, they are always looking for their 'Mr Right' - i.e. a perfect man who does not exist. Even if they find a good man like me, they still try to find someone better. They're unable to tell that they've found a good man, even if he hits them in the face :)

Im just confused really no matter how many women i send messages to i rarely get a reply. Now for me if ur not interested in the person messageing then ud tell them straight but in a nice way. I tend to think im being judged well thats how i feel anyway.
