Snikkles - Hmmmm...lol!

Hi, thanks for looking - so what to say here, eh? :D
Firstly, having tried these sites before I know that there aren’t many honest profiles out there – so this one will be!
I’m here because I’m looking for a girlfriend, partner and best friend – not a f**k buddy or a few flings (been there, done that – and it doesn’t really work anyway). That said, I’m always happy to make new friends for socialising, a few drinks and the occasional night out too! So basically, it would be great to meet someone I like, who also likes me, take things steady and see what happens?
Often there’s also a tendency on these sites to assume the worst, so I’ll try to answer some questions you might be wondering:
Why am I single/have I ever been married? Well, I’ve never married but have been in a few long-term relationships (and had a couple of bad experiences) - so it’s taken a long time for me to be ready to completely trust anyone again. Also, for the past few years I was at university full-time to keep myself busy, whilst also being a carer for my mum who was very ill – I graduated this year, but sadly mum died in April so never got to see it.
Do I have children? Yes, a beautiful daughter (15) who unfortunately I’m not in contact with anymore – ask me if you want to know more (her mother was one of those bad experiences I mentioned earlier!).
Do I work? Yes, full-time – but I’m very lucky in that I can choose my own hours, I work from home and still make a decent (but not amazing) living.. It’s perfect for me because my pride and joy is an adopted rescue dog (a huge, overly-friendly Japanese Akita) who was starved of affection as a puppy and couldn’t cope if left alone all day..
Am I as serious as all this makes me sound? God no, but whenever I type about dunking jaffa cakes in vodka, or putting old ladies into recycling bins in the hope that the council will recycle them into super-models, people don’t tend to send me messages! ;)
Ps: Things I’m really in to include cooking (I do a MEAN Sunday roast and even bake my own bread when I can be bothered!), movies (I’m a complete film freak – especially horrors!), and music (anything from Adele, Amy Winehouse (RIP), The Whites Stripes and Snow Patrol to Marylin Manson and Black Sabbath).
So... now you’ve read all of that, you can either take a chance and say ‘Hi’ (hope you do), or run away quickly without a word! :D
