Peter60 - Looking for a loving woman

Hello, I believe I have a kindly open nature, that I am worldly and reasonably intelligent. I have most of the usual social skills. I can engage and converse with almost anyone! I empathise easier than sympathise, I can be sensitive without being overly introspective, witty without being sarcastic. I'm happy to continue growing younger disgracefully!
I am fit and active - some exercise, some swimming, and lots of walking. I am fairly well travelled, having visited many countries in Europe, and several US states. I have lived and worked in many parts of the UK, and even spent 2 years in Tasmania. Of all the places I have visited the raw open beauty of North Yorkshire and Northumberland touch the very core of me.
In another life I was a power station engineer, and finally a teacher. Two years ago I was offered, and willingly accepted, early retirement.
I have lived on my own for 3 years now. I am becoming increasingly domesticated and independent. I'm a pseudo vegetarian (I still eat sea food!) and enjoy cooking and eating out.
Music has always been important to me. I wake to BBC radio 3 or a selected CD.
I am looking for a long-term loving relationship with an attractive, smart, tactile, thoughtful woman.
