How Internet Dating works

Internet dating works in a variety of ways, from dedicated dating websites, like Completely Free Dating, to social networking websites like Friendster and through forums and newsgroups. Dedicated Internet dating websites are probably the most popular and user friendly way to use Internet dating as they are specifically set up for this purpose. Internet dating websites normally have a registration process during which the user creates a ‘profile'. This profile will then be added to a database that other users on the Internet dating website can search and view. The Internet dating website will then have options to allow users to contact each other. Once contact is made via the Internet dating website it is down the individuals to arrange further contact. Internet dating websites come in many different varieties, from standard "everyone is welcome" sites, to more niche sites for certain groups of singles, like Christian dating websites, or for specific areas, countries or regions.

Problem with Internet Dating

There are several problems associated with Internet dating. Many Internet dating websites add ‘fake' profiles to tempt people to join, while some members create a ‘fake' profile with the intent of ‘spamming' other users. Some Internet dating websites require you to sign up before you can view other profiles and therefore singles signing up do not know the other type of singles already on the site. Also, most Internet dating websites seem to attract more male users than female users, giving the websites an uneven balance.
